FluentCRM

Email Marketing

Manage FluentCRM subscribers inside your WordPress install. Agents create or update contacts, apply and detach tags and lists, manage companies, and read campaign data across 20 actions.

20 actions Basic auth available
FluentCRM website ↗ Platform Documentation ↗ Capability data verified 2026-07-27
A new order arrives from the storefront
Get Subscriber By Email looks the buyer up in FluentCRM
Create or Update Subscriber upserts the contact with name, phone, and profile fields from the order
The agent reads the contact's current status before touching any marketing segment
A buyer whose status is unsubscribed stops the flow: the email owner decides between transactional-only handling and a re-consent ask, because a purchase is not an opt-in
Apply Tags to Subscriber tags the confirmed-marketable buyer as a customer with their product interest
Apply Lists to Subscriber moves them onto the paid-customer list once payment settles
The channel logs the day's new and updated subscribers with their segment changes

What This Integration Enables

FluentCRM's bet is that your CRM should live inside your WordPress install, on your server, with your data, without per-subscriber SaaS pricing. The bet pays off only if the data inside it stays alive, and that is a segmentation problem: an email program is exactly as good as its tags and lists are current. FlowRunner agents make segmentation event-driven. Orders, payments, and form fills from the rest of the stack become tag and list changes in the same minute, and the self-hosted CRM behaves like it has a full-time data team. - Sync customers and leads from e-commerce and form tools into FluentCRM as subscribers, by upsert, never duplicate - Apply and detach tags and lists from events, so segments track behavior automatically - Keep profile fields current from external systems, with lookups by email for systems that know nothing else - Organize contacts into companies and read campaign data for reporting from inside flows - Mint new tags and lists on demand as campaigns need them Because this CRM lives on your own infrastructure, its one unrecoverable operation deserves particular respect, and gets a [human-in-the-loop](/concepts/human-in-the-loop) gate.

Without FlowRunner

Buyers and subscribers are strangers Customers exist in the store and the CRM as unrelated records, and segments never learn who purchased
Segmentation is a quarterly project Tags get applied in bulk edits when someone finds an afternoon, then drift stale for months
Consent state is tribal knowledge Whether a contact unsubscribed lives in a column nobody checks before the next import

With FlowRunner

Every event updates the segment Orders, payments, and signups tag and list contacts the moment they happen
Segments describe the present Tags reflect what customers did this week, so campaigns target behavior, not history
Consent is checked before every write Status gates the flow, and unsubscribed contacts never silently re-enter marketing lists

Use Case Scenarios

Buyers become segments the day they buy

A [Shopify](/integrations/shopify) order fires. The agent upserts the buyer with Create or Update Subscriber and applies the customer tag plus a product-line tag with Apply Tags to Subscriber. When [Stripe](/integrations/stripe) confirms the payment, Apply Lists to Subscriber moves the contact onto the paid-customer list. The next campaign targets actual buyers of the actual product line, and nobody exported a CSV to make it happen.

The segment report that ships itself

Before the Monday meeting, the agent pulls the key segments with List Subscribers filtered by tag and list IDs, appends the counts and movements to [Google Sheets](/integrations/google-sheets), and posts the summary to [Slack](/integrations/slack): who entered the customer segment, which lists grew, which tags went quiet. List Campaigns and Get Campaign add what actually went out last week. The email program gets reviewed on numbers, not recollections.

B2B contacts with their companies attached

When a lead arrives from a B2B form, the agent checks List Companies for the lead's organization, creates it with Create Company when it is new, and links the subscriber as it upserts them. Get Contact Custom Fields keeps the flow honest about which custom field slugs exist before writing role and industry data. The self-hosted CRM ends up with account-level structure that usually costs an enterprise platform subscription.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

Delete Subscriber permanently removes a contact, their tags, their lists, and their history, and because FluentCRM runs on your own WordPress install, there is no vendor to call afterward: the record is as gone as your last database backup. The tempting time to use it is list hygiene, clearing bounced and long-dormant contacts, and that is precisely when the mistake costs most, because engagement history is what tells you a lapsed contact was once your best customer. So FlowRunner hygiene flows separate the judgment from the deletion. The agent assembles the candidate list with List Subscribers filtered by status, presents counts and samples, and offers the reversible path first: status changes through Update Subscriber, detachment from active lists with Detach Lists from Subscriber. Only contacts the email owner explicitly rules dead reach Delete Subscriber. An agent can propose forgetting someone; a person decides what the CRM is allowed to forget.

Agent Capabilities

20 actions

Subscribers

6
  • List Subscribers Retrieves contacts with free-text search across name and email, and filtering by status, tag IDs, and list IDs, with page metadata. The segment read behind reporting and hygiene sweeps.
  • Get Subscriber Retrieves a contact by numeric ID, optionally with custom field values, engagement stats, and associated companies.
  • Get Subscriber By Email Looks up a contact by email address, returning the full record with tags and lists. The bridge for systems that only know an email.
  • Create or Update Subscriber Creates a contact by email or updates the existing one when upsert is enabled, with tags, lists, and profile fields settable in the same call. The primary write behind every sync.
  • Update Subscriber Updates a contact's profile fields by numeric ID, changing only what is provided. Also the reversible instrument for status changes in hygiene flows.
  • Delete Subscriber Permanently deletes a contact with all tag and list associations. Cannot be undone, and the operation this page's human gate exists for.

Tags and Lists

8
  • Apply Tags to Subscriber Adds tags to a contact while preserving existing ones. The behavioral write that keeps segments current.
  • Detach Tags from Subscriber Removes specific tags from a contact without touching the rest.
  • Apply Lists to Subscriber Adds a contact to lists while preserving other memberships. The step that moves buyers into campaign audiences.
  • Detach Lists from Subscriber Removes a contact from specific lists, the reversible alternative to deletion in cleanup flows.
  • List Lists Retrieves all contact lists with optional search and sorting.
  • Create List Creates a new list from a title, for new campaign audiences minted by flows.
  • List Tags Retrieves all tags with optional search and sorting.
  • Create Tag Creates a new tag from a title, so segmentation vocabulary grows as campaigns do.

Campaigns

2
  • List Campaigns Retrieves campaigns across draft, scheduled, and sent states with title search and pagination. The feed behind program reporting.
  • Get Campaign Retrieves one campaign's subject, body, status, and configuration by ID.

Fields and Companies

4
  • Get Contact Custom Fields Retrieves the custom field definitions with slugs, labels, and types. The schema check before any custom field write.
  • List Companies Retrieves companies with name search and pagination. Requires the companies module.
  • Get Company Retrieves one company's profile: name, email, phone, and industry. Requires the companies module.
  • Create Company Creates a company record from a name, with optional email, phone, industry, and type, linkable to contacts. Requires the companies module.
