SendApp

Messaging

Connect AI agents to SendApp, an Italian WhatsApp marketing and conversational AI platform. Agents send WhatsApp and SMS messages, manage Meta templates and contacts, launch bulk campaigns, and query the built-in AI assistant so customer outreach runs across channels from one place.

What This Integration Enables

SendApp is an Italian WhatsApp platform, and the reason to reach for it is that WhatsApp is where its customers actually answer. The connector gives agents the full SendApp surface: sending over Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API, sending over SendApp's WhatsApp Web channel, sending SMS through a linked device gateway, managing Meta templates and a contact database, assembling and dispatching bulk campaigns, and training and querying SendApp's own AI assistant.

The distinction that matters most is one SendApp draws itself. Send WhatsApp Text Message and Send WhatsApp Template Message run on Meta's Cloud API, which means a Meta message ID comes back, Meta's 24 hour customer service window governs free text, and templates wait in Meta's approval queue. Send WhatsApp Web Message drives a WhatsApp Web session instead, which skips the approval queue and is governed by WhatsApp's terms on the connected account. Those are two different risk postures wearing the same word. An agent that treats them as interchangeable is making a compliance decision by accident, which is exactly the kind of decision FlowRunner is built to hand back to a person. Because SendApp separates campaign creation from campaign dispatch, an agent can do all of the assembly work and still stop short of the send.

Without FlowRunner

Channel chosen by habit Whoever builds the campaign picks the WhatsApp path without recording why
Template status discovered late Approval state is checked after the audience is already assembled
Campaign launch is a manual click Someone opens the panel, rebuilds the audience by hand, and presses send

With FlowRunner

Channel is an explicit decision The agent surfaces which WhatsApp channel a campaign will use before anything is queued
Approval state gates the build Only Meta-approved templates reach the draft
Draft assembled, launch approved The agent does the assembly, a named owner authorizes the dispatch

Use Case Scenarios

Service Follow-Up That Respects the 24 Hour Window

A support agent finishes a ticket in Zendesk and the flow needs to follow up on WhatsApp two days later. Two days is outside Meta's 24 hour customer service window, so free text will be rejected. The agent reads List WhatsApp Templates, selects the approved follow-up template, fills its variables from the ticket record, and sends it with Send WhatsApp Template Message. It captures the returned Meta message ID and polls Get WhatsApp Message Status to record whether the customer read it, then writes that state back to the ticket. Nothing about the window is guessed, because the connector reads the approval state rather than assuming it.

Contact Database Kept in Step With the Store

New customers land in Shopify all day. A flow watches for new orders, normalizes the phone number, and calls Create Contact, which merges into an existing record when the phone or email already exists rather than creating a duplicate. Weekly, a reconciliation flow calls Bulk Create Contacts with the full customer export so late arrivals and corrections catch up in a single call, and reads the contact usage figure the response returns against the plan ceiling. When the plan ceiling is close, the agent stops importing and raises it in Slack instead of silently dropping records.

An AI Assistant Trained on Documents You Control

A distributor keeps its product documentation as PDFs and a public catalog site. A flow calls Create AI Account, submits the PDFs and the sitemap with Upload AI Training Data, then polls Get AI Training Status until the run completes. From then on, inbound product questions arriving through the account are answered with Ask AI Assistant, passing the conversation ID back on each turn so context carries across the exchange. When the assistant returns its configured fallback message, meaning it had no answer, the flow escalates the thread to a human in Microsoft Teams with the customer's question attached. The assistant handles the repeat questions and the unanswered ones become a queue for a person.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

Launch Campaign is the point of no return on this connector. Create Campaign Draft never sends anything, so an agent can build the entire campaign safely, but Launch Campaign queues real messages to every selected recipient and cannot be undone once queued. Two SendApp facts make that worse than an ordinary bulk send. First, the campaign's channel and message type are offered as independent choices that the vendor does not cross validate, so a draft can name a combination nobody has confirmed is valid. Second, one of the available channels is the WhatsApp Web session rather than Meta's Cloud API, which puts the connected number under WhatsApp's terms rather than inside Meta's template rules. So the agent stops with the draft built and posts to the campaign owner: "Draft #4471 is ready. Channel: WhatsApp Web. Template: none, free text body. Recipients: 3,180 contacts tagged reseller-IT. This channel runs on the connected WhatsApp Web session, not the Meta Cloud API. Confirm the channel and I will launch, or reply with a Meta template name and I will rebuild the draft on the Cloud API." The human-in-the-loop step here is not a rubber stamp on the copy. It is the moment somebody accountable chooses which WhatsApp they are sending on.

Agent Capabilities

25 actions

WhatsApp Messaging

5
  • Send WhatsApp Text Message Sends free text over Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API, optionally with media, a header, a footer and up to three quick-reply buttons. Used inside Meta's 24 hour customer service window, when the customer has messaged recently and a conversational reply is appropriate.
  • Send WhatsApp Template Message Sends a Meta-approved template with its variables filled from the components array. Used to open a conversation or reach a customer outside the 24 hour window, which is the only compliant path for both.
  • Send WhatsApp Web Message Sends text or media over SendApp's WhatsApp Web channel, which drives a linked WhatsApp Web session rather than the Cloud API. No template approval is involved and connected accounts are subject to WhatsApp's terms, so this is a channel choice a person should make deliberately.
  • Get WhatsApp Message Status Reads sent, delivered, read or failed for a Cloud API message by its Meta message ID. Statuses are retained for seven days and only recorded when the status webhook is active, so flows should capture the state within that window rather than looking it up later.
  • Send SMS Sends an SMS through SendApp's SMS Gateway, which requires a linked device configured in the SendApp panel. Used as the fallback channel when a customer has no WhatsApp presence.

Templates

2
  • List WhatsApp Templates Returns every template registered with Meta for the account, with its language, category, approval status and variable structure. Used as the guard before any template send: an agent that reads approval state cannot queue a template Meta has not cleared.
  • Create WhatsApp Template Creates a template and submits it to Meta for approval. Used when a new campaign or notification pattern needs its own approved wording, ahead of the send rather than during it.

Contacts

5
  • List Contacts Returns a page of contacts with search and tag filters, plus pagination totals. Used to resolve a campaign audience and to find the contact ID other operations need.
  • Create Contact Creates a contact, or merges into an existing one when the phone number or email already matches, combining tags and metadata. Used for record-by-record sync from a store or CRM without producing duplicates.
  • Bulk Create Contacts Imports up to 10,000 contacts in one call, merging duplicates and reporting imported, updated, unchanged, discarded and errored counts along with usage against the plan. Used for periodic reconciliation runs.
  • Delete Contact Permanently deletes one contact by ID. Used for erasure requests and cleanup of records that should never have been imported.
  • Bulk Delete Contacts Permanently deletes up to 10,000 contacts in one call and reports requested, deleted and not-found counts. Used for bulk suppression, and worth a review step given the scale.

Campaigns

3
  • Upload Campaign Media Fetches a file from a public URL into SendApp's campaign storage and returns the hosted URL a draft can reference. Used to stage an image or document before the draft is built.
  • Create Campaign Draft Creates a bulk campaign as a draft and returns its campaign ID. Creating a draft never sends anything, which is what makes safe agent assembly possible.
  • Launch Campaign Queues an existing draft for immediate sending and returns the recipient count it will reach. This dispatches real messages and cannot be undone once queued.

Account

2
  • Get Account Info Returns the profile, the plan with its message, contact and token limits, the enabled apps list and the API access flag. Used as a preflight check so a flow fails on a plan ceiling before it starts building an audience.
  • Get Account Tokens Lists every account token tied to the API key. A single key can own several accounts, one per AI model or per WhatsApp, WhatsApp Web and SMS channel, and most operations need the token of the specific account they act on.

AI Assistant

4
  • Create AI Account Creates an account and token for a custom AI model, optionally setting the opening greeting and the fallback message returned when the assistant has no answer.
  • Upload AI Training Data Submits training material as a PDF or TXT file by URL, a single page to scrape, or a sitemap whose pages are all processed. Processing runs in the background and returns immediately.
  • Get AI Training Status Returns the state and completion percentage of the current training run, so a flow can wait for training to finish before it starts asking questions.
  • Ask AI Assistant Sends a question to the trained assistant and returns its answer plus a conversation ID. Passing that ID back keeps context across a multi-turn exchange, and the configured fallback message is the signal to escalate to a person.

Webhooks

4
  • Set WhatsApp Status Webhook Registers an HTTPS URL that SendApp posts Cloud API events to, covering status changes and inbound messages. Meta events are forwarded unchanged.
  • Delete WhatsApp Status Webhook Removes the Cloud API status webhook, stopping further status and inbound events.
  • Set SMS Webhook Registers an HTTPS URL for SMS Gateway events, covering received messages and device connect, reconnect and delete events.
  • Delete SMS Webhook Removes the SMS Gateway webhook, stopping further SMS and device events.
