Asaas

Payments

Asaas is a Brazilian payment institution and billing platform covering Pix, boleto, and cards. Agents create customers and charges, run subscriptions and payment links, handle refunds, splits, transfers, and bill payments, and react to charge events as they happen.

A charge reaches the received state and Asaas fires the event
Agent reads the charge, its net value, and any split configuration
Agent confirms the money settled rather than merely being confirmed
Get Balance and Get Statement reconcile the settlement against the account
The order is released downstream and the ledger row is written
The finance channel gets the day's settled total and any exceptions
A person decides what happens to the charges that went overdue instead of settling

What This Integration Enables

Asaas is a licensed Brazilian payment institution, not a gateway bolted onto somebody else's bank. That is the fact the whole connector turns on. The same API that raises a boleto, a Pix charge, or a card charge also holds the account it settles into. It moves money out by transfer, pays supplier bills, tops up phones, issues municipal service invoices, files a debt with a credit bureau, and provisions white label sub-accounts with their own keys. For a Brazilian business, the boundary between the billing system and the bank account largely disappears.

FlowRunner agents work both sides of that boundary. They create and reconcile charges across Pix, boleto, and card, run installment plans and subscriptions, manage marketplace splits and escrow, request anticipation on receivables, and read balance and statement directly rather than inferring them. The distinction between a charge that Asaas has confirmed and one that has actually settled is the sort of detail an agent should enforce every time and a person should never have to remember. Where the next step reaches a customer's credit file or moves money out of the account, human-in-the-loop is the default.

Without FlowRunner

Confirmed read as paid A charge that Asaas has merely confirmed is treated as money in the account, and goods ship against a balance that is not there
Collections by calendar Reminders, escalation, and write-off happen when someone gets to them
Reconciliation by export The bank view and the charge view are compared in a spreadsheet after the fact

With FlowRunner

Settlement is the trigger Downstream work waits for the received state, so releases follow money rather than intent
Collections run as a process Notifications, dunning candidates, and overdue lists are assembled continuously and reviewed as exceptions
The account is queryable Balance, statement, and payment statistics are read directly instead of rebuilt from exports

Use Case Scenarios

  • Charge to settlement, with the ship gate on the right state

An order arrives from the storefront. The agent calls Create Customer or matches an existing one, then Create Charge with the billing type left undefined so the payer picks Pix, boleto, or card at the checkout page. Get Charge Pix QR Code and Get Boleto Line supply whatever the customer's channel needs. The trigger then does the waiting. On the confirmed event the agent records that payment is coming and posts nothing downstream. On the received event it releases the order in Shopify, writes the ledger row to QuickBooks Online, and posts the settled total to Slack. Shipping against confirmed rather than received is the most expensive mistake available here, and the agent simply cannot make it.

  • Marketplace splits that pay sellers after delivery

A platform charge carries a split to the seller's wallet. Because a split settles when the charge is received rather than when it is created, the agent watches the split rows with List Received Splits and reports the pending ones separately from the paid ones. Where the platform holds funds until delivery is confirmed, Set Account Escrow Config puts the money in escrow at Asaas and Finish Escrow releases it once the carrier event lands. Get Split Statistics feeds the payout summary that reaches the seller dashboard, and the reconciliation sheet in Google Sheets shows what is owed against what has cleared.

  • A dunning ladder that stops before the credit bureau

Overdue charges are assembled nightly. The agent calls Get Charge Viewing Info first, because a customer who never opened the invoice page is a delivery problem rather than a refusal, and that case routes to a resend instead of an escalation. Real non-payers get Update Notification to tighten the reminder schedule, then a call task in the CRM. Simulate Dunning prices what a credit bureau filing would cost and what it would recover. The list stops there and goes to a person. Nothing is filed automatically.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

Create Dunning is debt registration, negativação, and it is not a firmer reminder email. It files an unpaid charge with a Brazilian credit bureau, which changes a real person's credit standing and can follow them into a mortgage application. Asaas charges to register it and charges again to withdraw it, and the withdrawal is not guaranteed: the charge carries a flag saying whether the registration can still be canceled, and once it has reached the bureau it may not be. So the agent assembles the case and hands it over. It posts: "Charge 118-4402 for R$ 3,180 is 74 days overdue. Three reminders delivered and opened. Simulate Dunning returns a registration fee of R$ 27 and estimates recovery at 41 percent. This customer has two paid charges in the last year. File with the bureau, keep chasing, or write it off?" The credit officer answers. Everything before that question is the agent's work, and the decision that marks a person's credit file stays with somebody who can be held to it.

Agent Capabilities

213 actions

Customers

7
  • Create Customer Creates the payer every charge is raised against. Asaas validates the CPF or CNPJ check digits, so a bad tax number is refused rather than stored.
  • List Customers Lists customers filtered by name, email, tax number, group, or your own external reference. Paging is by offset and the response says whether more remain.
  • Get Customer Reads one customer in full, including addresses, tax registrations, and whether notifications are switched off for them.
  • Update Customer Updates a customer. Only supplied fields change. Changing the tax number on a customer with issued charges is restricted, because it appears on their boletos.
  • Delete Customer Removes a customer. The removal is soft, which is what makes it safe to call from a workflow.
  • Restore Customer Brings back a removed customer with their charge history intact.
  • Get Customer Notifications Reads which reminder channels fire for which events on one customer. The read before switching a single reminder off.

Charges

23
  • Create Charge Creates a charge against a customer. Billing type picks the instrument, and leaving it undefined lets the payer choose from whatever the account has enabled.
  • Create Credit Card Charge Creates a charge and attempts the card immediately rather than sending the customer to a payment page. Authorize-only holds the funds for a later capture.
  • List Charges Lists charges across the vendor's full filter set, including four separate date ranges and a filter for charges eligible to be sold forward.
  • Get Charge Reads one charge in full, including the net value that actually reaches the balance rather than the value the customer pays.
  • Update Charge Updates an unpaid charge. The vendor requires billing type, value, and due date on every call, so read the charge first and pass the current values back.
  • Delete Charge Removes a charge. The removal is soft and reversible. It is not a refund, and Asaas refuses it on a charge already paid.
  • Restore Charge Brings back a removed charge with its original due date and value.
  • Get Charge Status Reads only the status, as a single field. The cheap poll for a workflow waiting on payment.
  • Refund Charge Refunds a charge in full or in part. On a split charge, the refund pulls money back from the recipient wallets too.
  • List Charge Refunds Lists every refund issued against one charge, which is how a sequence of partial refunds is seen rather than the aggregate.
  • Refund Boleto Starts a boleto refund. It does not finish it: Asaas answers a URL a person must open to supply the payer's bank details, so a workflow surfaces the URL rather than reporting the refund as done.
  • Capture Authorized Charge Captures a charge created as authorize-only. Holds expire after the window in the pre-authorization config, and an expired hold cannot be captured.
  • Pay Charge With Card Settles an existing boleto or Pix charge by card. Distinguishes an ordinary credit card from a Brazilian meal or food benefit voucher card, which is a separate rail.
  • Pay Charge With Credit Card Settles an existing charge by credit card, taking the card and cardholder objects separately. A stored token makes both unnecessary.
  • Confirm Cash Receipt Records that a charge was settled outside Asaas, in cash or by direct transfer. No money moves, and it stops the charge chasing the customer.
  • Undo Cash Receipt Reverses a recorded cash receipt, returning the charge to unpaid so it resumes chasing.
  • Get Charge Billing Info Reads every payment instrument generated for a charge in one call: the Pix payload and image, the card details, and the boleto barcode and typeable line.
  • Get Boleto Line Reads the typeable line and barcode for a boleto, which is what a customer enters in their own banking app.
  • Get Charge Pix QR Code Reads the Pix copy and paste payload, the image, and when the code expires. The image arrives encoded rather than as a URL.
  • Get Charge Viewing Info Reads when the customer opened the invoice page and the boleto. Both empty on an overdue charge is evidence of a delivery problem rather than a refusal.
  • Simulate Sale Simulates fees and net value across several payment types before anything is created. The way a workflow picks the cheapest instrument or shows a customer what installments really cost.
  • Get Charge Limits Reads how many charges the account may still create in the current window, so a bulk import checks the ceiling instead of failing halfway.
  • Get Charge Anticipation Restrictions Lists the contractual effects preventing one charge from being anticipated, which is the answer to why an eligible-looking receivable is refused.

Lean Charges

11
  • Create Charge (Lean) Creates a charge and returns the reduced response body, which is the form to use when a workflow only needs the identifier and the payment link.
  • Create Credit Card Charge (Lean) Creates and attempts a card charge with the reduced response.
  • List Charges (Lean) Lists charges with the reduced payload, which keeps a high-volume sweep cheap.
  • Get Charge (Lean) Reads one charge with the reduced payload.
  • Update Charge (Lean) Updates an unpaid charge with the reduced response.
  • Delete Charge (Lean) Removes a charge, softly, with the reduced response.
  • Restore Charge (Lean) Restores a removed charge with the reduced response.
  • Refund Charge (Lean) Refunds a charge with the reduced response.
  • Capture Authorized Charge (Lean) Captures a held charge with the reduced response.

  • Get Pre-Authorization Config Reads the current hold window, which is the number a delayed-capture workflow has to be designed around.

Anticipations

8
  • Simulate Anticipation Returns the fee and net figure for selling a receivable forward, before anything is requested.
  • Request Anticipation Requests anticipation on a receivable. A request can be denied with an explanation, and the denial arrives as its own event rather than in the response.
  • List Anticipations Lists anticipation requests and their outcomes.

Triggers

1 triggers

Event Triggers

1
  • On Asaas Event Fires on the full set of events Asaas publishes across charges, invoices, transfers, bills, subscriptions, checkouts, accounts, and anticipations, with an all-events option. The record is lifted out of the vendor's envelope so a workflow reads it directly. The distinction that matters most here is between the confirmed event and the received event: only the second one means the money has settled into the balance.
