Most spreadsheet APIs give you cells and leave you to it. This one gives a flow real structure to work with: - records read and written by criteria rather than by cell address - formatted tables whose column headers are the keys the record routes use - pivot tables that can be created, filtered, sorted and refreshed - charts that can be inserted, published and exported as images - conditional formats, picklists and data validation - named ranges that follow the block they point at when people edit around it - named versions, with a route back to any of them A flow can maintain a whole reporting workbook, structure and formatting included, rather than pasting values into a grid somebody else laid out. That version history is the reason most of this surface is safe to automate. Create Version saves a named state, Revert Version restores it, and Trash Workbooks is a reversible removal with Restore Workbooks as its inverse. Every one of these operations is built and verified against the Zoho Sheet official API. Three routes sit outside that safety. Publish and Publish Charts make data readable by anyone holding a link, with no sign in. Delete Workbooks empties from the trash permanently and Restore Workbooks will not bring them back. And Merge And Email leaves the workbook entirely, which is where this page's human gate goes. One more thing is worth knowing before you write a bulk update. The record and table update and delete routes apply to every row when no criteria are given. Lock protects a worksheet or a range against named shared users, which is how a template survives contact with the people filling it in. An agent can open a workbook to a client for a review window, lock the calculation sheets, apply picklists and data validation to the input columns so the entries stay parsable, and close the access again when the window ends. The reviewer edits what they are meant to edit, and the flow reading the sheet afterwards is not guessing at free text. ## Human-in-Loop Highlight Merge And Email is the one route in this connector that a version cannot undo. It runs a merge template over a set of records, generates a document per record, and emails each one as an attachment from the Zoho account. The documents are not saved anywhere. If the record set was wrong, there is no copy to inspect afterwards and no way to know what any individual recipient received, beyond asking them. Reverting the workbook afterwards changes the spreadsheet and nothing else. Zoho already built the safe version of this, and a FlowRunner flow uses it. Merge And Save runs the same template over the same records and saves the generated documents instead of sending them.
